Description

beyondthosehills is a games production studio located in Athens, Greece. Co-founded by Maria Aloupi and Andreas Diktyopoulos, they’re a diverse team of developers, musicians, artists, producers and curators focused on bringing their unique talents to the gaming world. Their previous projects include quirky adventure The Minims and puzzle game Reky, which was featured by Apple as an “Incredible Indie”, and won a prize (merit) at #EBGE2020 awards.

History

First Title - The Minims

The first game title developed by beyondthosehills was “The Minims”, an adventure game published on iOS and Steam. The main content of The Minims was developed during 2013 - 2014. In Q4/2013, an introductory mini version, consisting of five mini - chapters, was published on iTunes as an introduction to the world of The Minims. Ever since then, a long adventure has been developed. The story evolves in an imaginative new world that spans across 30 different scenes, a main character and fifteen cartoonish secondary characters.
The full version of The Minims was published on December 2014 on iTunes. A version for PC - Mac has been published on 2015 on Steam and iTunes. A new version is coming soon for Xbox One.

Second Title - reky

beyondthosehills’ second game title is reky, a minimalist puzzle game. Released on October 2019 on App Store and May 2020 on Steam and Google Play. After the development The Minims, of our first title, we decided to start working on a completely different genre and style. We started working on a new minimalist style based on a black and white, where color is used only as an indicator, strictly related to the game’s functionality and the puzzle - solving process. This time we let go of storytelling elements in order to let the player experience to be more focused on the puzzles themselves. So we developed the game using some simple elements: a dot, some blocks, the exits and just a dash of colour.
